Post Stuff: Bangin' the Mobile

Because I would never put it on Facebook ... but I feel it should be seen to be believed. This little delight's too good for that Zuckerberg zitface.

I present to you: Blake and the Batmobile.
A little context?

Summer 2008. I was a design/writing intern for The Chicago International Film Festival and in mid July, for our Summer Gala, we hosted the Chicago premiere of "The Dark Knight" at Navy Pier. I mean, they shot most all of the excellent film here, and WB probably felt like they owed us a premiere — seeing as England, L.A. and New York got them. We gave them their Gotham for chrissakes!

Anyways, after the event, after containing ourselves from trying to accost Chris Nolan, Gary Oldman and Richard Roeper (actually that last one, not so much), a coupla us interns got the go ahead from our supervisors to run around, yank some swag, and get photo-ops. Well, they brought in a batpod and the batmobile from the production as show pieces.

There was no way I was getting behind the wheel of those things, I mean, come on. There was a red velvet rope! So, the next best thing? A picture that resulted in the above. I look hefty, tired and uncomfortable. But hey, I still have the picture...

I don't think I would stand in front of it like that. If the Batpod came shooting off, you would lose some valuables.
