Post Stuff: French "Do the Right Thing."

The TV Spots for "Cop Out" have been annoying the hell outta. They're hurting the legacy of a classic, call to arms hip hop masterpiece — "Sound of da Police" by KRS-one, an infinitely remixable song. It's saying beware of opression and abusive power in the form of police. It doesn't necessarily say "here comes the funcooker!" I mean, I dig both — but doesn't the former seem a bit more legit? I first found the song by accident on a Norman Jay compilation, and of course, my older brother Maestro's like "Dude!"

My favorite iteration:
I saw this film, "Le Haine," a kind of gritty French "Do the Right Thing" a few months back. This scene sure as hell stuck out in my mind.

The original:
God I love the beginning.
